The SAP Basis Administrator will be responsible for providing end-to-end technical administration, performance tuning, and operational support for SAP systems across the Deloitte/Army SAP landscape . This role supports a large-scale government program and requires experience in maintaining secure, stable, and optimized SAP environments in compliance with federal standards.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively within a cross-functional Agile Operations team , ensuring system reliability, seamless integration, and adherence to IT security and compliance policies.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform SAP Basis administration for environments such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP IBP, and SAP BW systems.
Handle system installations, upgrades, migrations, and patching in alignment with project and compliance requirements.
Manage system performance tuning , database optimization , and transport management across development, test, and production systems.
Provide Tier 2 operational support for SAP Basis-related issues, coordinating with infrastructure, application, and development teams.
Monitor system health, logs, and background jobs ; proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Administer user security roles and authorizations , ensuring compliance with government data security standards.
Support disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and environment refreshes .
Document system configurations, procedures, and changes to maintain a strong audit trail.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system stability, scalability, and alignment with evolving business and technical requirements.
Stay updated with SAP product releases, kernel updates, and cloud integration best practices .
8+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration with strong expertise in S/4HANA and HANA database management .
Hands-on experience in SAP system installations, upgrades, and migrations .
Proficiency in transport management, client administration, and system performance tuning .
Experience in SAP IBP environment support and integration with S/4HANA preferred.
Strong understanding of system monitoring tools , Solution Manager (SolMan) , and security configurations .
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and database administration (HANA, Oracle, or SQL Server).
Exposure to Agile project environments and federal or defense sector SAP implementations.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Must hold an Active Secret Clearance (Mandatory).
SAP Certification in Basis Administration or HANA Technology .
Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or public sector SAP environments .
Knowledge of SAP Cloud Platform (BTP) , IBP integrations , and Fiori administration .
Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, or DoD guidelines).
