The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) provides skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires strong scrub and circulating skills, experience in a Level 1 Trauma environment, and the ability to float within scope to meet facility needs. The RN will work a 5x8s schedule and participate in a monthly weekend call rotation.

Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the operating room.
- Function as both a scrub and circulating nurse.
- Assist with various surgical procedures, including Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery.
- Monitor patient condition and ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate records in Cerner.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.
- Answer unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Perform data entry into electronic medical database systems. Documents patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Performs selected patient registration activities.
- Coordinates equipment/supply needs. Notifies appropriate department of equipment malfunction.
- Performs any other related duties (e.g., clerical, technical duties) as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in the OR.
- Level 1 Trauma experience.
- Strong scrub and circulating skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in Neurosurgery (crani and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology.
Special Considerations:
- Mandatory float facility; resources are required to float at the facility's discretion.
- Must live within 75 miles of the facility.
- Navy Blue scrub color, provided.
Scheduling:
- 5x8s, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM.
- No block scheduling.
- One 12-hour call shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- No weekday call.
- Every other weekend / 2 weekends per month.
