MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As an On-Prem Systems Administrator , the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customers. You will play a crucial role in these work areas:

• Responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of the organization’s IT systems and infrastructure including managing servers, ensuring system availability and implementing solutions to improve system performance and security.
• Supports the installation, configuration and maintenance of servers including physical and virtual environments.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
• Manages the Active Directory, and other core IT services.
• Monitors systems performance and troubleshoots issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Performs maintenance such as patch management, updates and backups.
• Plans and executes systems upgrades and hardware/software installations.
• Ensures systems are updated with latest security patches and software updates.
• Implements and maintains security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
• Conducts security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with organization policies and regulatory requirements.
• Manages and tests backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Develops and maintains disaster recovery plans for critical systems and services.
• Participates in disaster recovery drills and business continuity planning.
• Provides support to end users and other IT staff by resolving hardware, software and system related issues.
• Maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures and changes.
• Creates reports on system performance, security incidents and other key metrics.
• Coordinates with other IT teams to ensure coordinated delivery of IT services.
• May assist in the development of IT policies and procedures.
  

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The On-Prem Systems Administrator must have:

● Education: Technical Training, Certification(s), or Degree

● Experience: 1+ years of related experience

● Required Skills:

• Experience with Linux/Red Hat OS or Windows Server OS 2019 and above, network configurations, and server hardware
• Familiarity with Active Directory
• Understanding of virtualization platforms like VMware, Nutanix, and/or Hyper-V
• Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, and/or Bash

● Preferred Skills:

• Prior Real-time operations/systems experience
• Sec+, A+, Net+, Cloud +, ITIL, Foundational Certification from a Cloud Provider (i.e. AWS CCP Certification, AZ 900, Cloud Digital Leader)
• Red Hat Certification
• Automation Concepts (Ansible/Puppet)
• Experience with Splunk, Science Logic, Service Now, F5 Load Balancers
• Familiarity with Cisco switches and firewalls
• Experience with SQL database queries and troubleshooting
• Backups (VEEAM, NetBackup, Unitrends)
• Scripting and coding experience (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, GIT)
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure Cloud providers
• Familiarity with security baselines (i.e. CIS Benchmarks or DISA STIGs
• Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various levels of an organization

● Security Clearance Level: None required, but ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or higher clearance is preferred.

● Location: State of Louisiana.

• Candidates within LA who reside within 60 miles of our Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City, LA will follow a hybrid work model.
• Candidates within LA who reside more than 60 miles from our offices in Bossier City, LA will follow a remote work model.
