Diesel Mechanic

Position Summary:

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, cleaning, and inspecting diesel and natural gas-powered trucks. This position requires a valid driver's license.

Your Role:

• Troubleshooting and maintaining a fleet of trucks.
• Welding
• Take an active role in improving safety and health in the workplace.
• Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings.
• Maintains reasonable, regular, and punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.

Your Skills:

• Ability to use various vehicle maintenance tools such as hand, electric, pneumatic, jacking, safety stands, and electronic testing equipment.
• Ability to receive, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to read and understand parts of service manuals.
• Ability to prepare legible and understandable work orders and schedule completion sheets.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.

Requirements :

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• A driver's License/CDL B is a plus.
• Must supply own tools
• ASE Certification
• Two Motor and Air brake certification is a plus
• Demonstrated mechanical skills .
• 2-5 years of experience in a transport environment
• Gritty, outgoing, and eager to learn.
• The environment is fast-paced, and the person in this role must be proactive, hardworking, highly organized, and an independent critical thinker.

• Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.), most of the workday.
• Be required to exert physical effort in handling objects of less than 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand for up to 12 hours and be able to bend, reach, push, and pull frequently.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
