About Us: Smile Orthodontics by Dr. Sarah is a community centric premium orthodontic practice focused on making the highest level of orthodontic care accessible to our Hamptons community. With offices in Southampton and East Hampton, our dedicated team of professionals, lead by Board-Certified Orthodontist Dr. Sarah Schroetter, is committed to providing the highest quality orthodontic care in a friendly and welcoming environment. We are currently seeking an Orthodontic Clinical Assistant to join our team and assist in growing our business and creating beautiful smiles for our patients.

Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Assist the orthodontist in preparing and seating patients for their orthodontic procedures. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and orthodontic care instructions. Take patient X-rays and digital scans as required.
• Treatment Support: Prepare and maintain the orthodontic treatment area, ensuring it is clean and well-organized. Provide chairside assistance to the orthodontist during procedures, including handing instruments and materials. Ensure all orthodontic equipment is properly sterilized and maintained.
• Records and Documentation: Update patient records, treatment plans, and charts accurately in our practice management software. Take intraoral and extraoral photographs as needed for documentation and case evaluation. Schedule patient appointments and follow up on treatment progress.
• Sterilization and Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control and sterilization protocols, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and staff. Maintain inventory of orthodontic supplies and order as needed.
• Patient Relations: Build positive relationships with patients by providing a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Address patient questions or concerns and provide reassurance as necessary.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; formal dental/orthodontic assistant training or certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Spanish proficiency a plus.
• Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate patient records.
• Proficiency in computer use for scheduling and record-keeping.
• A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
• X-ray certification and CPR certification are a plus.
